Re-my ban from a forum.

Last Monday I was banned from posting on C.Net forums. But the next day,on Tuesday the ban on me was lifted. Here is the story behind it.

Re-my ban from C.Net forums-update-

A few days ago I told you how I was banned from posting on C.Net forums.My account was blocked.So although I could log into the site and read the posts,I could not post on the forums. So I spent the past two days Monday and Tuesday emailing a moderator of the forum to find out why I had been banned from posting.

How to connect to Google Talk on Pidgin.

The default server settings in Pidgin Messenger work without any problems on most home broadband networks. And they will work on most mobile broadband networks too. But if you are using public wifi you may find, as I have that Pidgin cannot connect to your Google Talk account. In my case,Pidgin works fine with the default settings on my broadband connection at home and on my mobile broadband. But I could not connect to Google Talk on Pidgin messenger at all on the hotels public wifi. Although I can when I use my T.Mobile broadband. So after searching the web,I found out how to change the server settings in Pidgin. So that it now connects to Google Talk on the public wifi. And I think that this information will be useful to anyone who is having difficulty connecting to Google Talk on Pidgin.

How to stay safe on public wifi.

I am on holiday at the moment and so I have taken my laptop,a Netbook with me. Many hotels and coffee shops have public wifi that you can connect to the Internet on. But there are steps that you need to take.As public wifi is less secure than your own wifi or wireless broadband at home. One alternative is to use your own mobile broadband. I have T.Mobile pay as you go broadband,which I can use when I take my laptop outside my home. But even with mobile broadband you still need to take the same steps, to keep your laptop safe. 

I have just been stopped from posting on a forum.

Blocked From Posting On A Forum.

A few months ago I told readers of how I got a warning from Linux Mint forums. Telling me they would ban me if I continued to post,because they did not like my ideas about computing. So I did not want to give them the satisfaction of banning me and I just stopped posting on that forum.

Well it happened to me again on another computer software forum-on C Net forums.

Here in this video I talk about the problems with using Internet cafes. Which have a lot of rules. I got told off in an Internet cafe on Monday for downloading Safefox on the computer I was using. I was told by the cafe manager that they do not allow people to install web browsers on their computers.

Internet cafe does not allow you to install Safefox or other web browsers.

I was told off by the Internet cafe owner for downloading Safefox web browser on the computer I was using in an Internet cafe. I was told" you are not allowed to install any software on our computers. We do not allow it."

I was in an Internet cafe in Liverpool on Monday,and I was using their computers because I did not have my laptop with me. I left it at home and so while I was on holiday,I was using Internet cafes.
