Remove Color Background From Microsoft Agent Characters On Windows Vista, 7 & 8.

There is a bug on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1 that does not allow the Microsoft Agent Characters to display correctly when run.

The animated characters Merlin, Rover The Dog and others are the office assistants found in Microsoft Office 2003 and in other applications such as Deskbot and Mash.

Fix To Run Channel Screensaver From Windows 98 On Windows 7.

The Microsoft Active Channel Screensaver (also known as Channel Screensaver) was bundled with Internet Explorer 4 and 5. So was installed in Windows 95,98,Windows 2000 and Windows ME. This screensaver works fine on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 8 and 8.1 but not on Windows 7.
However I have managed to find a fix to get the screensaver to work on Windows 7 and it does. So here is what you need to do.

How To Rename The Network Icon On Windows 7.

This also works on Windows Vista, Windows 8 and 8.1. I am not sure about Windows 10 because I am not using that.

On Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows you can rename the Network Icon which was My Network Places in Windows XP or Network Neighborhood in Windows 98 to any name you wanted.
Microsoft for same reason disabled this feature in Windows Vista and later Windows. But this feature is not removed and there is a way to get it back with a simple registry edit

Enable Windows Calendar To Open In Windows Mail On Windows 7 & 8.

Windows Mail and Windows Calendar are part of Windows Vista but they also run on Windows 7 and 8. But Windows Calendar does not open in Windows Mail as it does in Vista, it needs some help.

Replace The Default Wallpaper On Windows 7.

This also works on Windows Vista, Windows 8 and 8.1.

Well there is not much you can say about the default wallpaper that everybody sees when they first boot into the desktop on Windows 7.
It's, well, boring and not much to look at.

How To Get Outlook Express To Show In Default Programs List On Windows 7 & 8.

This works on Windows 7,Windows 8 and 8.1.

In my other post I showed you how to install and run Outlook Express the email program from Windows XP on Windows 8 and 8 and 8.1.

But it does not show up in default programs list which is annoying because it's difficult to set it as your default program.

Internet Explorer 16 bit On Windows 8.

Also works on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. But you must be running 32 bit Windows as 16 bit software does not work on 64 bit.

Internet Explorer 3 was in Windows NT4 and early versions of Windows 95. But Microsoft also made 16 bit versions of IE for Windows 3.1 and 3.11.

IE1, IE2, IE3, IE4 and IE5 came in either 16 or 32 bit ,depending on the Operating System.

So for a bit of fun I installed the 16 bit version of IE3 for Windows 3.11 on Windows 8. To see if it could run and it does.  I am surprised as I did not think it could run on 8 but here it is running on my 32 bit Windows 8.
